Keeping Girls Safe
Keeping your child safe is of prime importance at Girls’ Brigade!
From simple games to a programme of challenging activities your child is in safe hands with dedicated, trained leaders. We know that girls love challenge and want to push boundaries and Girls’ Brigade allows them to do that in a safe, secure and supportive environment.
Girls’ Brigade Scotland has clear policies and guidelines which all leaders follow. Leaders are volunteers who are recruited via local Churches which includes an interview, providing references and undertaking recruitment checks. Every leader who works with girls must be a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Scheme – PVG – and cannot work in company without this. Our training includes safeguarding training and risk assessment as standard.
Occasionally, accidents can happen but Girls’ Brigade has extensive insurance cover in place for all members should it be required.
You can read more about specific policies related to safety in the ‘Policies’ section.
